Upgrade from an older version
The transports and the software are designed to make unnecessary any additional manual activities in the upgrade process from an older version of the Snow Optimizer. All necessary steps to migrate data are done automatically with the import of the transport and with the first call of the Snow Optimizer transaction after the update.
This means, exactly as with a fresh installation, it is sufficient to just import the transports of the newest version. The already installed old version should not be deleted beforehand, otherwise existing data and settings would be lost.
Import the update transports into the same client on the master system as the initial installation. This should be the client in which the Snow Optimizer is used.
After importing the update transports, check and update the RFC user authorizations on the satellite systems.

Templates are automatically updated and/or installed in the background after a new installation or update. A pop-up notifies the first user who opens Snow Optimizer about the template installation.
-
If you upgrade from a Snow Optimizer release lower than 3.2, you must also install a new license key.
-
If you upgrade from a Snow Optimizer release lower than 4.2, ensure that the basis release on the installation system meets the minimum requirements.
