Set up Power BI

To show Snow Optimizer data in a Power BI dashboard, you must import the OData object data and the dashboard template to Power BI and publish the dashboard.

Before you can import the OData object data, you must set up the OData service in the SAP system and release the data in Snow Optimizer.

Import data​

  1. In the Power BI desktop application, select Get data from other sources.

  2. Search for OData Feed and select Connect.

  3. In the pop-up, enter the URL as the SAP server host name followed by the path to the OData service (<SAP_server_host_name>/sap/opu/odata/DYNAM/ODATA_BI_SRV/), for example https://abc.flexera:44121/sap/opu/odata/DYNAM/ODATA_BI_SRV/, and select OK.

  4. Select Basic authentication, enter credentials, and select Connect.

    The available OData objects are shown, and you can preview contents.

  5. Select the checkboxes of the OData objects you want to import and select Load.

    The Snow Optimizer data is now available in Power BI.

Import dashboard template​

  1. In the SAP Downloads area in the Flexera Support Portal, download the dashboard template.

  2. In the Power BI desktop application, select File, Open, and Browse this device.

  3. In the pop-up, select the dashboard template file and select Open.

    The Snow Optimizer dashboard template is now available in Power BI, and the OData object data is loaded into the dashboard.

Publish dashboard​

To show the Power BI dashboard in a web browser, you must publish the dashboard.

  1. In the Power BI desktop application, select File, Publish, and then Publish to Power BI.

  2. In the pop-up, select the destination and select Select.
