CPU consumption profile analysis

Access through: Reports > Reports for ABAP systems > CPU consumption profile analysis

The CPU consumption profile analysis report shows to what extent the usage of ABAP systems corresponds to the objects defined in a selected usage profile. You can select whether the report compares the usage profile with the CPU time percentage, the objects included in the usage profile, or the objects excluded from the usage profile. Optionally you can select a reference profile to determine if it fits a user better than the selected usage profile.

Selection criteria​

In addition to the standard selections, the selection screen of the report has the following selections:

Options for report type

You have to enter the usage profile and can select between three different analysis options:

  • The percentage of a user's CPU usage that is caused by objects included in a usage profile.

  • The number of objects that the user has used that are included in a usage profile.

  • The number of objects that the user has used that are excluded in a usage profile.

To limit the CPU time, you can enter threshold values in the CPU seconds fields.

Reference profile

You can select a reference profile whose usage is compared with the usage of the selected usage profile.

Depending on the selected report type, you can enter reference profile thresholds for CPU seconds, included objects, or excluded objects. These thresholds define the extent to which usage must match the reference profile in order for a user to be considered within the profile.

You can execute this report in the background.

Result​

This report result description refers to a report execution with an aggregation scheme by user ID.

The report result shows information about the user groups, the CPU seconds, and the consolidated license type. Depending on the selected option, the report result also shows the percentage of CPU time that matches the usage profile, or the number of used objects included or excluded in the usage profile.

If you selected a reference profile, the report result also shows the extent to which the reference profile corresponds to usage and whether usage is within the specified threshold.
